Conditions of Enrolment

The Odyssey reading circle runs for nine months, from October 3 to June 26, and is divided into three three-month capsules. Registration is for the full nine-month journey, while payment is made separately at the beginning of each capsule.

Group size

The group will have a maximum of 10 participants. This is intended to keep the discussions informal, lively, and small enough for everyone to take part.

Each capsule will run only if there are at least 5 confirmed participants. If the minimum number is not reached and a capsule cannot open, any payment already made for that capsule will be refunded.

Fees and payment

The regular fee is €300 per capsule.

Participants who register by September 20 are eligible for the early-bird fee of €250 per capsule. Those who register by that date will keep the reduced rate for all three capsules.

Payment is made before the beginning of each capsule, rather than for the full nine months in advance.

Cancellations and withdrawals

Once a capsule has begun, fees are non-refundable. If you decide to leave during a capsule, no full or partial refund, credit, or compensation will be offered for the remaining sessions in that capsule.

Reading materials and notes

Before each new section of the reading programme, participants will receive a short context leaflet introducing the work, its background, and some themes or questions that may be useful to keep in mind while reading.

After each section, participants will also receive a brief summary of our discussion, bringing together some of the main ideas, questions, and connections that came up in the group.

These materials are meant as companions to the reading rather than academic assignments or formal course notes.

Meetings

Meetings will take place in person on Saturdays, from 10:00 to 12:00.

The meeting place will be announced soon.

Online participation

There will not be a parallel online group version of the reading circle. Online participation is available only on a one-to-one basis, by separate arrangement.

A final note

This is a reading circle rather than a formal course and is open to everybody. The aim is to read ambitious and rewarding works slowly, enjoy them together, and make room for conversation, curiosity, disagreement, and discovery. No specialist knowledge is expected.
